Despite the island’s small size, there is much to do here. There are attractions and tours aplenty, from historic sites like the Gun Hill Signal Station in St. George, and the exotic Andromeda Gardens in St. Joseph.

There are also guided island tours that explore wonderful trails, and you can try off-roading with Island Safaris, which has become a great adventure for locals and visitors alike.
Harrison’s Cave, one of the island’s most popular and inspiring attractions, is a great place to see the unearthed wonders of this limestone island.

The island’s natural beauty lends itself to numerous activities. Barbados is a top surfing destination, and whether you’re a beginner or world-renowned surfer Kelly Slater, you can find the experience you’re looking for. The island’s east cost is a prime surfing location, and you’ll discover fantastic windsurfing and kite surfing here as well.

Snorkeling and scuba diving are also popular here thanks to Barbados’ crystal clear waters, an abundance of marine life and the island’s barrier reefs, located anywhere from one-half to two miles offshore. There’s also a plethora of wrecks which make for fascinating diving.

A thriving population of hawksbill and leatherback turtles call Barbados’ waters home, and you can swim with these gentle beauties during a sailboat tour.

Deep sea fishing excursions are another way to get up close and personal with the island’s marine life. On these trips, you’ll reel in anything from barracuda to tuna, wahoo or marlin.

If you’d like to explore back on land, try out an island tour, of which there are plenty. Reputable tour operators will show you the island’s homes and gardens, heritage and history, art and crafts, nature and more. You can also explore on your own thanks to bike and scooter tours, or go off-roading with an adventure tour.

Hiking is another popular activity on Barbados, where you can trek across cane fields, tropical forests, coastal communities and more.

If you’d like to work on your swing during your stay here, you’re in luck. Barbados offers some of the best golf in the Caribbean thank to its numerous world-class courses and facilities, like the Sandy Lane Golf Course. There are also numerous tournaments throughout the year, so time your vacation just right for a little friendly competition.
