Numerous options make getting around Barbados easy once you’ve arrived. Car rental companies offer everything from fun open-top Mini Mokes to luxury vehicles. Taxis are prevalent, and licensed taxis have a Z as the first letter on their license plates. These taxis can take you where you want to go, or on a full island tour for a set price. 

There are several limousine companies on island if you want to travel in style, or if you’d like to go for a truly local experience, hop on an iconic blue and yellow Barbados Transport Board bus, on which you can travel island-wide for just 75 cents US per single trip.

There are also ZR vans (pronounced Zed-R by the locals), which are privately owned vans that run specific routes and can be identified by the ZR on their license plate. Privately-owned mini-vans painted yellow with a blue strip also run specific routes and have a B at the beginning of their license plate.
