Best suited for
Bring the whole family and your in-laws too. With the option of interconnected rooms, traveling with a large family is made easy. Having a kitchenette makes it even easier. Your family can dine comfortably enjoying what they like and when they would like it particularly when very hungry and tired after a day of playing. Since they will provide a crib if requested, you will not be restricted from a dream vacation because you have a toddler or infant along on the trip.

We love the flexibility of Sunswept Beach Hotel. Let your palette and your pocket have some say on this vacation. Without a lot of extra complimentary services, you pay for only what you want, a great room at an affordable price. Since this little gem of a hotel is tucked right in the midst of all the action, time isn’t wasted traveling from one spot to another. Holetown and its exciting evenings is right here offering up any flavor of dining experience you are in the mood for or budget for. There is no need to break the bank in order to enjoy Barbados.
The Location
Sunswept Beach Hotel is perched just steps from the gorgeous white sand beach of Barbados’ “Platinum” west coastline in the town of Holetown. This tidy and serene hotel, with its 23 self-contained suites, is in a prime spot for the savvy traveler to indulge in all the island has to offer. Everything you can imagine is within a short distance, particularly the ocean making your stay as convenient as possible.
The Rooms
Each of the 23 self-contained units features a furnished private patio or balcony that looks out over the ocean lapping at the beach below. Every room has a kitchenette and ensuite bathroom. These spacious and well-organized rooms are tastefully decorated in traditional Caribbean styles of floral prints, joyful colors and pickled pine furniture. Groups or families can take advantage of one of the four sets of interconnecting rooms.
The Beach
A trip to Barbados is all about the beach and at Sunswept it is quite literally steps away from your room. Known as the Platinum Coast for its brilliant white sands, the west coast beaches are some of the most stunning in the world. The island shelters these waters from Atlantic currents making them generally calm and warm, perfect for swimming and other water sports. The hotel provides beach towels to its guests with a $20 deposit for the duration of your stay. Exchange each towel for a new one as many times as you need.
Because of its location, many other fantastic beaches like Mullins and Glitter Bay are also within a short distance and welcome more guests to their unique features. At Colony Club and Paynes Bay kayaks and other water-sports equipment is available for rent. Reefs line many of the beaches giving you a chance to snorkel and catch sight of a hawksbill or leatherback turtle. If you are in Fitts Village, plenty of restaurants are close for dining after you play all day. For families with children, Batts Beach is the perfect spot. This public beach has a playground just for kids, food and beverage vendors, and picnic tables.
The Pool
The classically styled pool offers a tremendous view across the seascape. Its varied depth and step down entrance will satisfy pool-goers of all ages. Lined with palms and blooming landscape, there is ample shade to rest beneath, though you’ll find plenty of comfortable chaise lounges beneath the warm sun too.
Amenities
Sunswept Beach Hotel offers its guests a host of amenities to make their stay both comfortable and convenient. The kitchenette in every suite comes with cutlery, crockery, glassware, an oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and refrigerator to meet all your needs for dining in room, particularly with the fresh seafood and produce you procure at the local markets! Rooms have air-conditioning, telephones, cable television, alarm clock radios, and maid service daily.
For an additional $3US fee, guests may use an in-room safe to store valuable and purchases. Since many guests rent a car for their excursions around the island, parking is complimentary for all guests of the hotel. Further, guests may request a crib or an extra bed for travelling with children or extended family. Hair dryers and irons with ironing boards are also available at request to serve you during your stay.
Dining
Dine anywhere you please when you stay at the Sunswept Beach Resort. Buy fresh fish at Speightstown Fish Market and return to your kitchenette, or dress up for an elegant evening at The Cliff, Ill Tempio Italian Restaurant, or Daphnes. Just Grillin’ will serve up delicious fare in a more casual setting as does Elbow Room.
International cuisine is available at The Mews and Nishi (pictured to the right), but you can’t miss the simple yet delicious renditions of traditional favorites offered at Fish Pot, a humble yet elegant hangout not far away.
Entertainment
An evening of entertainment is just a few blocks away from Sunswept along 1st and 2nd streets in Holetown. They are a hub for nightlife with something going on each night of the week. You may even get a glimpse of a celebrity at Lexy’s Piano Bar on the strip, a favorite for locals tourists and famous jetsetters. Restaurants featuring cuisine from around the world line the streets as do pubs and bars that feature a range of live and DJ’d music.
Many local rum shops are also nearby and offer samples of their various brews. Chattel Village in Holetwon has a host of local artisans, live traditional music and street vendors for great souvenir shopping. Speightstwon, just north of Holetown has a volume of historical buildings and contemporary structures with fabulous shopping including fish and produce markets where you can get the catch of the day.
Kids
Sunswept Beach Resort welcomes your children. If they are under the age of thirteen, they stay free. The self-contained suites are ideal for families. With a kitchenette, you can safely store and prepare food and snacks for your children at any time. You trip can be made more economical and convenient. Cribs and additional beds are available upon request for your room.
