We have just returned from a lovely one week holiday at Mango Bay. Our family group was made up of grandparents, my family (me, my wife and 8 month old daughter) and Sister's family (husband, 2 and 4 year old), and we all thought very highly of the resort. The food was excellent (I'm not a real foodie, but have eaten in some top restaurants, so you know where I'm coming from!). Breakfast was an excellent buffet of fruit, and cooked breakfasts, including freshly cooked eggs and omelettes. Lunch was mainly 3 course al la carte (buffet on two days). Both options really good quality, and serving staff really really lovely people. Evening meals also really very good. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great, with lit torches etc. Al la carte all nights other than BBQ night and Curry night (REALLY GOOD!) The hotel manager was also very clear that if these things aren't to your taste, then to ask, and the chef will do something else for you. Drink choice really good, I can highly recommend the Coconut Cooler as well as Banks beer on tap. Again, good quality, and coupled with the all-inclusive was brilliant. Nice bar area with seating and day-time shade. Nice beach, it's not hugely deep at high tide, but were always able to find a great beach spot at the front of the hotel, so really no complaints. The decked area is very good, and a short 1 minute stroll to the let of the hotel frontage offers up another large area of beach. Water Sports and boat trips very generous of the resort in my opinion. We went water skiing & wake boarding a couple of times (could have gone more). We didn't go on the catamaran turtle trip because of our baby, but it was a two hour trip which the rest of the group enjoyed. The included glass bottom tour also a nice trip, and am surprised it's included! There is a brilliant atmosphere on resort given the relatively small number of guests, and lovely staff. All in all, a great resort. If / when we go back to Barbados I will look to stay there, no doubt. Great Manager and staff, which result in an excellent all-round resort. « less

I am 13 and went with my mum, dad, sister and nana. As soon as we arrived we felt at home, our bags were carried in, we were given a drink and made friends at once. The hotel is a lovely size, not to big but not to small. The rooms are lovely. Three of us shared one room and there was plenty of room. They are kept very clean and the cleaners are very welcoming. We loved the variety of drinks at the bar, especially the fruit punch with banana! Rondell and one other bar man were so friendly and always joked with us! The best thing about MANGO BAY has to be the food and the water sports. We waterskiied every day we were there and I have learnt so much. The waterskiing instructor is very serious but is so nice once you get to know him. We also went on the jet-ski a couple of times and he taught me and my sister to drive it. It was a great experience. Also we used the canoes and went on the catamaran and glass bottom boat. I was so scared to snorkel but the boat drivers gave me heaps of confidence. Now I love snorkelling! We met many friends including staff and locals. We caught a reggae bus from near our hotel and went to sleights town which we disliked allot, we felt out of place. We went to a polo match which was different yet amazing. The sea swelled for two days, and the staff planned more excursions, but we just stayed at the hotel because the waves were ginormous and it was fascinating to just stand and stare!! In the dining room ROCHELLE is the nicest member of staff. She is so friendly and served us several nights. Our flight was delayed 24hours and we were kept calm by the staff and were given a room and another day in the sun! A few words to some our holiday up are: A holiday of a lifetime which I will never forget. I got so much out of it, even just meeting the locals. I can't wait to go back there soon! « less

We booked this hotel on the strength of the reviews on trip advisor and we were not disappointed! We stayed here for a week at the end of april. The hotel is in a perfect location on the west coast of the island with plenty of pubs shops and restaurants on its doorstep. The hotel was spotless both in the public areasand the accomodation itself. We upgraded to an ocean view room when we booked (211) as we had read on trip advisor that the rooms at the front of the hotel were subject to local noise from the pubs and would definately recommend this as it was noisy, especially on a Sunday fromthe karaoke! Our room was excellent and was equipped with a fridge (another perk of a room upgrade), the rooms were cleaned daily and you were provided with clean beach towels daily, and a nice little touch was the turn down service at night with a little chocolate left on your pillow! the food was also of a high standard and the staff were very accomodating if there was nothing on the menu that suited, only small issue was that we expected more authentic bajan cuisine, but there was plenty to choose from, along with the plentiful drinks on offer! (you must try the rum punch). all in all an excellent hotel with plenty of watersports on offer for the more adventurous, and can recommend the catamaran trip to swim with the turtles, amazing! « less

We stayed at Mango Bay,the first week of march. It really was a lovely friendly little hotel and because it is so small you get to know and chat with all the people staying there, everyone is so friendly. There was a range of age groups there. The staff are all lovely, although some do smile more than others. We even got smiles from the guy on reception! I'm not sure he is the best person to have on reception though? Shireene, the manager and the assistant manager were truly delightful. They took the time most days to go round to all the guests making sure they were enjoying themselves and if there were any problems. And at the bar,Rondelle stood out from the rest, always happy and smiling. The food was lovely.Breakfast was a buffet of all the normall bits. And Lunch and the Evening meal were a la carte, although a couple of days were buffet. At breakfast you had to book your lunchtime and evening slot.At first we thought this strange but you do get used to it and it works well.It is nice in the evening as you have the entertainment going on as you are eating. Afternoon tea is also served at 4pm,which we used to take down to the beach. Not once did we ever feel hungry! The beach was lovely and it amazed us as it seemed to come and go! One minute there was lots of room on there and the next the sea was right up to the hotel steps with no room to put the sunbeds. We used to walk right along the beach front ,right along to Sandy Lane beach and sit on their beach for a bit and go in their water, its a public beach so they cant stop you.It only took about ten minutes, was a lovely walk with lovely views. We went on a few trips that we thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend, ...The Atlantis Submarine in Bridgetown which was different to anything we had done before. ...A Jeep Safari, that took us all over the island seeing all the sights, and was great fun. ...Oistins Fish Fry Friday, this was great, you get taken and brought back, get a reserved table there, get a fish meal and a drink. And then you have time after to yourselves to walk round, have a drink and party at all the different music venues before they bring you home again. It really was a good night and different! Another thing i would recommend is to go and get a bus and travel around the island(bus stop is by Beth and Tracie, the blue shop on corner). Its really cheap to go anywhere and you get to travel with all the locals.Make sure you go on the yellow busses, they are the Reggae busses and are great fun with Reggae music blaring out.We went to Speightstown and had a walk around and then we went on another one right to the top of the island through where all the locals live. Outside of the hotel, there are a number of bars and restaurants to sample.Friday night is a very good night to go out to them.Saturday night is very quiet so dont bother. And Sunday is fab as the locals have a street party by the 'One Love Bar' which is real good fun and the drink is so cheap there. The hotel have alot of trips that you get free so dont miss those,a glass bottom boat trip,a trip on a catamaran to swim with the turtles, trip to Bridgetown, water skiing. They are all worth doing. We had a fab time in Barbados, even though the weather wasnt kind to us.When we first got there,we had 3 solid days of torrential rain, but the last 4 days were brilliant. If you are thinking of going, then go,because you wont be dissapointed. « less

My husband and I booked this hotel as part of my 50th birthday celebrations after reading the reviews. It did not disappoint. We booked an ocean view room (313) which gave us great views of the beach and the sunsets. Room was excellent with large comfy bed and great bathroom. Husband appreciated the chocolates on the pillow every night! The hotel is located at the end of one of the few streets in Holetown, and is ideally placed for restaurants, bars and shopping (all walkable from ther hotel). However we chose to eat and drink mainly in the hotel as we were on an all inclusive deal (except for a trip to the fish fry on Friday at Oistins - highly recommended; and one dinner at Daphnes which was slightly disappointing). All the staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpfull - could not fault them at all. The food was generally good, though desserts tended to be disappointing if you went beyond the ice creams sundaes and cheese and biscuits (my only gripe - but as I like my puds, this led to the overall mark being only 4/5). The bar was great, especially Andre who made some of his 'specials' for us whilst we were there - watch out for the 'brain haemorrhage' - lethal! This was our first trip to Barbados and we'd definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. « less
