The Location

Bougainvillea Beach Resort is located in popular Christ Church. This sheltered southwestern corner of the island provides countless exquisite beaches of pearlescent soft sand along the shores of calm and crystalline waters.
Here among the prime beaches and destinations of Barbados, plenty of diversions await tourists of all ages to escape into carefree life of the islands. You can relax in comfort while the family runs off to try numerous activities with equipment provided by the hotel.
The Rooms

Everything you expect to find in a Caribbean holiday greets you at the Bougainvillea from the whitewashed stone architecture with inviting arched entrances and colorful balcony roofs to lush exotic vegetation adorning its grounds, and cool tropical colors tastefully accenting its décor.
Paradise awaits you, while providing comfort and convenience in your choice of studio, one-bedroom, and two bedroom accommodations that blend ocean, pool or garden views. Suites come complete with kitchens, flat screen televisions and cable, and are serviced by staff daily.
The Beach
The quarter mile long Maxwell Beach is home to the Bougainvillea Beach Resort. It’s bright white sands stretch out to meet the gentle waves of an endless azure ocean. Palm trees line its edges offering spots of shade for an afternoon respite from the endless array of water-sports available at this prime location. Gentle waters offer perfect conditions for swimmers while the breezes invite the playful to take to a Hobie Cat, enjoy a sailing lesson, or even windsurf. Lifeguards are on duty. Food and beverage services are available as well.
Most beaches in the area offer a variety of water-sports and vendors, but you can also catch games of cricket and soccer at Dover Field across the street from the broad and popular Dover Beach. Surfers though are likely to migrate towards Accra Beach, also known as Rockley Beach. This is a very popular beach offers a perfect blend of exciting waves for surfers and calm swimming conditions. But for a great hideaway from the crowds, try Carib Beach tucked away adjacent to the airport is a small narrow strip of beautifully kept white sand. Though airplanes periodically fly over reminding you that you aren’t alone on a tropical island, it also keeps many other tourists away making the beach practically your own.
Of all Barbados’ beautiful beaches, one of the best known and largest is Browne’s Beach. It spans south from Bay Street at the north down to Needham’s. Located right outside Barbados’ capital city, Bridgetown, the waters here are warm and calm, ideal for swimming and sunbathing. The sand is signature Barbados, white find and soft, perfect for beach-side play. However, be advised this beach does not have beach chairs for rental, so be sure to bring your own towels for stretching out. Beneath the calm waters, divers will find reefs made from sunken ships, ideal for exploration and adventuring.

The Pool

Three pools are available for guests of the Bougainvillea Beach Resort. A large rectangular pool is set along two large freeform pools laid out among ornately landscaped strolling paths and waterfalls providing plenty of space for guests to play or find a quite nook to relax while enjoying the beach view.
A variety of depths allow casual soaking or energetic swimming. One pool offers a children’s section while another is devotedentirely to adults complete with a swim-up bar. Two shallow wading pools are also available specifically for your toddlers and little ones to enjoy.
Amenities

Your comfort is a priority at the Bougainvillea Resort. Every room is a non-smoking room, is air-conditioned, and is equipped with a ceiling fan. The kitchens are well-equipped and stylish with granite counter tops. Hair dryers and irons with ironing boards are also available in the rooms. For your additional comfort and security each room comes with a safe for storing valuables you have brought or purchased.
You may be in Barbados for vacation or business, but sometimes it is hard to separate the two. For your convenience, the hotel offers wireless internet access, iPod and iPad docking stations. If needed, you can schedule your conference in the 814square foot air conditioned conference room that can hold up to 65 people in a theatre style.
While you are tidying up your business dealings, the kids will enjoy The Challenger Game Room with Air hockey, pool, table tennis, foosball and of course, a 57” flat screen television. Video games and a current DVD library are also available. A Kids Club can meet your babysitting and supervising needs as well.
Even when it is time to check out of your room, you can still enjoy as much vacation activity as possible. The Hospitality Lounge offers couches, a flat screen television, and two bathrooms complete with showers so you can clean up and relax before departure.
Dining


You’ve come to Barbados to get a taste of the islands and you’ll find it at the Bougainvillea’s featured restaurant, Lanterns by John Hazzard. Ocean views and gentle sea breezes provide the atmosphere of this reinvented old-school seafood restaurant that was the historic Lanterns by the Sea. Renowned Bajan chef, John Hazzard brings in fresh, local produce and the best local seafood to create dishes that are light and delightful. Guests will enjoy Chef John’s Surf and Turf featuring a small filet mignon and tiger shrimp, and Beef BBQ Glazed Short Ribs on Pesto Mash.
If you like fusion, you’ll need to check out Water’s Edge, Chef John Hazzard’s other fabulous creation--Italian food, Bajan style! Italian entrees feature magnificent local ingredients for a truly unique dining experience. Food here is served either à la carte or family style, and the food is familiar comfort food, elevated. Guests will swoon over a variety of pastas and risottos, beef, pork, and fresh seafood. There are selections here to appeal to every palate, young and old alike.
For palates that prefer the tastes of home and other destinations the area boasts a huge array of dining options from Cafe Sol’s Mexican food served in authentic and Americanized styles to Pablo Donte’s casual burgers, hot dogs and breakfast all day long. Other dining options include but are not limited to Luigi’s for great Italian food; Waterside for great gourmet style Bajan food served outdoors; the Reggae Grill for Jamaican treats and great music; and the famous Chicken Rita’s rum shop for local favorites and great conversation.

Entertainment


The nightlife in Christ Church is some of the best on the island. Bougainvillea Resort is home to Water’s Edge Bar and Lounge a contender for the best bar in Barbados. Step off the boardwalk and onto the softly lit terrace to mingle with the crowd while taking in the beachfront view. The bar greets its patrons at 5:00pm and is open late for a long evening of enjoying the social scene in a picturesque setting. No worries. Your room is right there when the evening is over.
But, if you’d like to get up and dance the sexy Harbor Lights offers an open air beach front night spot that is a destination for locals and jet setters from around the world. DJ’d music and nightly drink specials will have you dancing barefoot on the sand beneath the swaying palms. Perhaps you’d like to take a swing at a swaying Pinata instead. Café Sol offers Fiesta Fridays with Pinata prizes and as always an extensive margarita list to order from. However, it’s the Caribbean and there is a rich culture to enjoy. Bajan Roots and Rhythm puts on a party like show at the Plantation Theatre. Enjoy a delicious traditional meal while watching a live show giving the audience a true taste of West Indies culture.
During the day, shops and vendors beckon—St. Lawrence Gap, Bridgetown, Sheraton Center, and Lantern’s Mall Hastings all offer duty free shopping from indoor malls to outdoor street vendors and just about anything you could want to purchase for yourself or the relatives at home. Take any of the many tours at various destinations to learn about the history and culture of the region from Historic Bridgetown with its parliament halls and National Heroes Square to Historic Garrison and the Barbados Museum and Historical Society.
Kids

Your children will love their island adventure. Since all children under the age of 15 stay at the Bougainvillea for free when accompanied by an adult there is no reason not to bring them.
Each room offers a kitchen where food can be stored and prepared for snacks and bottle feedings. Large suites can comfortably accommodate a family of up to six. With all the beach activities available right at the Bougainvillea Beach Resort, you’ll find something each member of your family will enjoy.
Free time
When you want to relax or get some adult free time, there are supervised activities for your children and babysitting services at the hotel so everyone gets to enjoy themselves. The restaurants at the hotel offer free meals from the kids menu to children under the age of 4 and 50% off for children ages 4-9 when accompanied by an adult.
